on the Baltic Sea

There are several impressive hiking trails in the immediate vicinity of our hotel. Here you will find a brief overview. Route 1: Ghost Forest Nienhagen

Length: 4,8 km

The tour consists of forest and meadow paths that In parts directly on the steep bank lead along with a view of the Baltic Sea coast. Depending on the weather, you can also walk directly on the beach. The forest area is home to fascinating flora and fauna. The ghost forest got its name from the spooky-looking deciduous trees with their gnarled, crooked trunks.

Your hike through the ghost forest will be an unforgettable experience, especially at dusk.

Route 2: Klosterteiche huts

Length: 2,5 km

Particularly worth seeing on this small route are the 14 ponds along the way. These were created as carp breeding ponds by monks who lived in the area from the late 12th century. The route is listed Forest and meadow paths through a wooded area.

Route 3: Oldendorf fir trees

Length: 1,8 km

The start of this route is the eastern exit of the Rostock Warnow tunnel. About half of the route follows a wide strip of shore along the Warnow. From there you reach a small forest area. Here hikers can enjoy a wonderful view over the water to the ferry dock in Warnemünde and the IGA Park.

Tip:
If you are lucky, you will see one of the huge cruise ships that regularly anchor here on the opposite bank in Warnemünde.

Route 4: Gehlsdorf waterfront promenade

Length: 3,3 km

The Gehlsdorfer Uferpromenade is a medium-length hiking route along the Warnow and through the Rostock district of Gehlsdorf. Enjoy one magnificent view over the water of the city harbor of Rostock and the panorama of the eastern old town.
